Balloon & Gas Safety  Notes

Do not use any gas other than helium to inflate your balloons

Always store cylinders in an upright position

NEVER inhale helium gas or allow anyone else to. In high concentration helium can asphyxiate and can kill

Always attach weights to balloons filled with helium

Always seek permission from the Civil Aviation Authority before you release balloons

Never release balloons larger than 12” in diameter

Never release foil balloons

Temperature effects balloons…helium expands in heat and contracts in cool conditions

Sunlight will cause latex balloons to become cloudy

An 11” latex balloon when filled with helium will float for approx 18 hours,

an 11” pearl latex balloon will float for a little longer.
